Butch Davis, North Carolina Coach Diagnosed with Cancer

North Carolina head football coach Butch Davis has been diagnosed with a form of Lymphoma. Davis was diagnosed in a standard trip to the dentist. The doctors have said they show no signs of the cancer spreading. Davis has decided to undergo chemotherapy as a pro-active way of battling the cancer. Butch Davis does not plan on steepping down. Several media outlets are reporting that Army coach Bobby Ross will announce his resignation at a news conference scheduled for 3:00 PM Monday.Ross has also coached at Citadel, Maryland, Georgia Tech and the San Diego Chargers.Army ended the season with six losses in a row in 2006.
