The University of California has hired former Stanford basketball coach Mike Montgomery to be the new head coach.
Last week California fired longtime coach Ben Braun after coaching for the Bears in 12 years.
Mike Montgomery was with Stanford for 18 years before leaving the college ranks for the Golden State Warriors. He has not coached since 2006 and has a 547-244 record has a college coach

The University of California has fired Ben Braun who was the men’s basketball coach for the past 12 years.
California finished this season 6-12 in the Pac-10 and 17-16 overall and haven’t made the NCAA March Madness tournament since 2003.

Bobby Knight, the head coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders has resigned effective immediately as the head coach. Pat Knight who is the son of the all-time winningest coach will take over for his father, a move that was expected later on down the road.
