Cito Gaston to replace Gibbons in Toronto
The Toronto Blue Jays have fired manager John Gibbons and have hired former Blue Jay manager Cito Gaston to take over.
Gaston led the Jays to World Series victories in 1992 and 1993 but this year Toronto is 35-39 and 10.5 games behind the Red Sox.
Gibbons finishes his Blue Jays managerial career with a 305-305 record since 2004.

Schilling to undergo season ending surgery
Curt Schilling told WEEI-AM in an interview this morning that he is will undergo season ending surgery Monday according to the Associated Press.
Schilling has been on the DL for the entire season after re-signing with the Red Sox for another year. Schilling has pitched 20 years in baseball for the Red Sox, Diamondbacks, Phillies, Astros and Orioles.

Mets fire Randolph
The New York Mets have fired Willie Randolph after rumors have circulated for weeks.
The Mets are currently 34-35 with a $138 million dollar payroll. Randolph got a reprieve last year when the Mets collapsed in the final weeks of the season and failed to make the postseason.
